- 1 cup softened butter or marg.
- Food colors(yellow, green, and red)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp grated lemon peel
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp grated lime peel
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ tsp grated orange peel
- 3 cup all purpose flour
- Colored sugars(yellow and green)
- 1 tsp salt

Mix thoroughly butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend in flour and slat. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. To one part work in a few drops of yellow food coloring and the lemon peel. To another part work in a few drops green food coloring and lime peel. To another part work in few drops each red and yellow food coloring and orange peel. Leave the remaining part plain. Cover; chill 1 hour. Shape each colored dough into roll, 2" in diameter and 4 inches long. Divide plain dough into 3 equal parts. Roll each into rectangle, 6x4". Wrap 1 rectangle around each roll of colored dough; press together firmly. Roll in matching colored sugar. Wrap; chill at least 4 hours. Heat oven to 400. Cut rolls into 1/8" slices. Place on ungreased baking sheet; cut each slice in half. Bake 6-8 minutes or just until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
