- ⅔ cup softened butter or marg.
- 1 tsp soda

- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 eggs
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing form baking sheet. Cookie Tip-to keep from heating your big oven, bake cookie dough in the waffle iron. If the dough is for chocolate cookies and frosted with chocolate frosting they look very much like turtles. Simply break the finished cookies into the size you want. A sour-cream or any soft dough works very well.
