   � cup butter (or shortening) 1� cups sugar 2 eggs 2� cups our, sifted 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda � teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon Mix together butter, sugar, and eggs thoroughly.

   Sift together our, cream of tarter, soda, and salt, then add and mix.

   Chill dough.

   Roll into balls the size of a walnut.

   Mix together sugar and cinnamon and roll cookies in mixture.

   Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

   Bake at 400� for 8 to 10 minutes.

   Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
