Applesauce Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup applesauce 1 teaspoon baking soda

   � cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 2� cup our � tsp salt 1 teaspoon cloves 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon allspice 1-12 oz pkg chocolate chips 6-oz chocolate chunks (milk chocolate or semi-sweet) 1 cup chopped nuts Mix applesauce and baking soda in a small bowl and set aside.

   Cream sugar, shortening, and eggs.

   Add sauce mixture.

   Add dr y ingredients and stir in nuts and chips.

   Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 325� for 12 to 15 minutes.
