cup shortening (125 g) cup softened butter (150 g) 1 cup granulated sugar (200g) 1 cup packed brown sugar (200 g) 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 3 cups all-pur pose our 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips Preheat oven to 375�.

Mix thouroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.

Stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonsfuls 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
